Service Details
Harry Lawrence Conrad, 64, passed away on March 14, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 19, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1627 Grand Avenue in West Des Moines. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 18, from 4 to 7 p.m., with a vigil at 6:30 p.m., at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines.
Harry was born on May 30, 1947, to Ralph A. and Adell Conrad in Madison, WI. He graduated from MATC with an Accounting Degree, and worked most of his 35-year career in the insurance industry. Harry also served in the Wisconsin Army Reserves for 10 years, and enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and spending time with his family.
He will be greatly missed by his children, James (Breanna Allen) Conrad, Ryan and Matthew Conrad, and daughter, Katherine (Lanney) Porter; the mother of his children, Margie Conrad; brother, David (Gloria) Conrad; grandchildren, Chance (Jamie) Porter, Alena, Bowe, Madison and Nathan Porter; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and special cousin, Leone Liston.

Harry has been such a blessing to our family at Primary Health Care. It has been an honor and joy to take care of him over the last 11 years. He will be missed dearly. God's blessing to your family in these tough days ahead.

Katie, I think you may remember us but maybe not James, Ryan or Matthew. You were just too little when we were attending your baptisms, and your special birthday parties. We enjoyed being with you and your dad and mom so much. We had such fun with all the activities we did together. Our sincere sympathy for your loss.

Harry, David, and I spent our childhoods together. They were like brothers to me. I have fond memories of vacations, birthdays, Christmas, graduations, weddings, and babies. There were also the sadder times when we lost our parents. Now dear Harry is gone to heaven. I will always miss him.
