Jeanette LeCroy, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, after suffering from a stroke.
Jeanette was born December 31, 1924, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Marvin and Beatrice Strief. She married Richard LeCroy on May 11, 1947. Together they enjoyed going to auctions, fishing in Canada and hunting. Jeanette also loved spending time with her family, going to church, and she was an avid Hawkeye fan. Jeanette enjoyed spending time with her friends at Rose Glen and the Polk County Historical Society.
Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Jan LeCroy; grandchildren, Jon Henson of Apple Valley, MN, and Gabrielle LeCroy-Phillips of LaQuinta, CA; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Addison Henson of Apple Valley, MN; and sisters, Nancy (Keith) Vickery of Dubuque, IA and Audrey (Joe) Kuefler of Sun City West, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; son, Gary LeCroy; and daughter-in-law, Marie LeCroy.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 15, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, 1001 Pleasant Street, Des Moines, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.

This September our Senior High Class of '42, will celebrate our 70th Reunion; however, Jan will be with us in spirit.
May God grant Jeanette ever- lasting Peace. Our heartfelt prayers go out to all of you.

Too:Jan & Jon : Please be aware we are here for you inyour time of need,Jeanette was a great lady and wonderful Sister in Law.Her Emails will be missed.I will always remember a hunting trip when she shot a pheasent and how mad she got when one of other guys wanted to claim it,I was beside her and she won that battle.

Jan: I'm so sorry to learn that you Mom has passed away. I hope her stroke was recent and she did not suffer for a long time. My Mom died many years ago when she was 61 yrs. old so I do empathize with you. It's always difficult to lose your Mom.
I had to use this way of giving you my condolences because I don't know your current address.

Jan, I'm deeply saddened to hear about the passing of your mother. She sounded like a very vibrant woman who didn't let age get in her way based on the stories you shared with me about her. I'm sure she will be greatly missed. I will be sure to keep you, Jon, and the rest of your family in my thoughts and prayers.

As I read the obituary for Mrs. LeCroy, I was touched by the full life she lived. Never-the-less, 87 years of life is still much too short. How thankful we are that our grand Creator, Jehovah plans to restore his original purpose and make it possible for all mankind (including our loved ones we have lost in death) to live forever under perfect conditions. (Matthew 6:10; Job 14:14 & 15). Please accept my condolences as you deal with the loss of Mrs LeCroy and contemplate the hope of seeing her once again.

Dear Jan,
I just learned about Jeanette's passing and please know that my deepest sympathy is extended to you and your children.
I would like to offer a passage from a poet whom I have always admired;
"Nothing , in fact, actually dies: everything goes on existing,always.
