Jack “Ed” Leeper, 66, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center.
Jack was born February 25, 1946, in Neodesha, Kansas, to Jack and Margie Leeper. He worked as a counselor in South Dakota prior to moving to Des Moines. Jack’s first love was music; he was a guitarist for several bands throughout the Midwest.
Jack is survived his children, Tom (Jodi), Richard (Misty), Bethany, Jade and Kadie Leeper; 12 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; several siblings; and a host of other extended relatives and friends.
Per his request, his body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.

I believe this is the same Eddie Leeper I played with in gigs in Indiana, Michigan? He was 19 then (1965), had some curly hair, and was stocky. But what a good guitar player he was! Thought he told me he was from Boulder, CO, and gigged in Nebraska? And when I last had contact, he was playing in Des Moines or Cedar Rapids. He got real sick in Ft. Wayne, IN, he stayed in his Hotel room, and I had to bring him food. He may have played with Donnie Sanders & the Shooting Stars? Wish I had stayed in touch - he was a nice guy, and a great Bandmate...RIP, Eddie

Leeper Family,
Eddy was my 1st cousin. Margie and my mother, Molly are sisters. We visited a lot when we were young, my sister Carol Jean was same age. Sister, Sharon still lives in AR. Eddy was one of the best guitarist I ever heard. All Gilberts were musical and sang. My mother played 5 instruments by ear. Margie was my favorite Aunt. Had hoped to reconnect with Eddy, but for time and distance.
