Gladys Olson

Gladys Aretta Olson, 79, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2007 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2007 at Grandview Lutheran Church, E 13th & Hull Ave. in Des Moines. Burial will take place in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation with family present will be from 5-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave.
Gladys was born June 16, 1927 to Arthur Thomas and Cecilia (Raymie) Thomas in Hamilton, IA. She graduated from high school in Lovilla, IA. In 1947 she married Lewis Olson. She worked for Look Magazine, Younkers and Munsing Wear. She was a member of Grandview Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra Parson of Astoria, Or., granddaughters, Angela Parson, Portland, Or., Jena Parson of Tucson, Az, and great-grandson Arden Daugherty, of Portland, Or, and a sister Ethel Bednar of Burlington, IA. She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Olson.
