Kenneth Bassford

Ken Bassford, 80, of Des Moines died on May 18, 2007 at the Knoxville V.A. Hospital. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with burial following at the Glendale Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9:30 A.M. until service time on Wednesday.
Ken was a machinist at Eagle Iron Works and retired in 1992. He was a WW II Navy Veteran, a member of the International Association of Machinists Union, the American Legion, the USS Helena Association and enjoyed gardening and traveling.
He is survived by his wife Margaret, his children Jack Bassford, Susan Bassford and Robin Boggs as well as 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Beverly Eastwood.
Memorials may be made to Bethany Baptist Church.
