Delbert Fitch

Delbert Orville Marvin Fitch, of Des Moines, passed away at his home on Friday, May 18, 2007. The funeral service will be at 1 pm Monday, May 21 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial following at Glendale Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Sunday evening at Hamilton’s Funeral Home.
Delbert was born to Marvin and Eunice Fitch on April 6, 1917. He enjoyed gardening, working at Drake University and at the Iowa State Fair. He was also a proud Army veteran of World War II.
Delbert is survived by his children: Gary (Jennifer) Fitch, Nancy Lumadue, Carol Heyland and Larry Huffman all of Des Moines, Robbin Selby of Albia, Jack Huffman of Woodward, Karen, Joy Gina, Duane Fitch all of Wisconsin, Allen Fitch of Fort Worth Texas. Brothers: Stan and Richard Rhinehart of Sioux City. Sister: Betty Cumberland of California. Several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alberta Fitch. Brothers: Kermit and Marvin, and Sister Joyce Schroeder.
