Teresa Stump, 72, passed away Monday, February 20, 2012, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born February 1, 1940, in Jefferson, Iowa, to Russell and Barbara Pickering.
Teresa worked as a computer programmer with the State of Iowa Public Safety until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of Altoona United Methodist Church, Copper Creek Ladies Golf, and Toad Valley Ladies Golf.
Teresa is survived by her loving husband, Warren; brother, Ken (Deb) Pickering; step-daughter, Janice (Craig) Matzke; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeff) Whitacre and Steven Matzke; many nieces and nephews; other loving relatives and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Charles Pickering.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, February 23, 2012, at Altoona United Methodist Church, 602 5th Avenue SW, with burial to follow at Altoona Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, at the Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in loving memory of Teresa.

Warren I extend my smpathy to you and family for your loss. I hope the many fond memories you have together will ease the loss and carry you forward. My years with BCI bring back memories also and Teresa and you were certainly part of that history. Take care of yourself now, you're running out of people to carry you!!!!
