Larry J. Alexander

Larry Alexander, 65, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center.
Larry was born November 20, 1946 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Earl and Inez Alexander. Larry attended grade school and high school in Marshalltown, graduating in 1964. He worked in heating and cooling most of his life, retiring from Bishop Drumm Retirement Center in 2009. Larry was united in marriage to Judi Gazaway. She passed away in 1992. He later married Delores Hadley on March 21, 1995 in Branson, Mo. They made their home in Des Moines and Altoona, Iowa. Larry was a member, worship leader and board member of Eagle Vision Church in Des Moines. He was a man of great faith believing the blessings of the Lord. Larry also enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren. He enjoyed the fishing but he saw the greater treasure of spending the time with them. Larry had a keen sense of humor. He was known as a jokester.
Larry is survived by his wife, Delores; children, Joe (Michelle) of Acworth, GA, Rebecca (Dave) Beck of Altoona, and Amy (Jeramy) Breese of Des Moines; stepchildren, Denise (Phil) Jorgensen of Cedar Rapids, Shawna Klinger of Altoona, Chad (Jenny) Taylor of Cedar Falls, and Jamie (Kim) Taylor of Weldon, NC;17 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; mother, Inez of Elizabeth City, NC; and brothers, Jon (Dawn) and Gary. Larry is preceded in death by his father and first wife, Judi.
Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, also at the funeral home, followed by burial at 2 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marshalltown.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

I pray that God's comfort, consolation and peace will be yours at
this time of grief. Grief, and yet we are thankful that he is free
from pain and "healed" at last. I wish I knew his family, but my
