Derek Lee Santry, 20, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012, at Mercy West Lakes Hospital in West Des Moines, Iowa. He was born April 29, 1991 in Des Moines, to Tracy Pullen and Richard Santry, Jr.
Derek was an animal lover. Growing up he was an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants and Florida Gators. He enjoyed playing video games and skateboarding.
Derek is survived by his mom and dad, Tracy and Erik Frye; brother, Zack Santry; grandparents, Sharyn Frye, David and Pat Breckenridge, and Bobbie Sala; as well as other family and numerous friends.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, February 16, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family or the Animal Rescue League of Iowa in loving memory of Derek.

There are no words to describe the tremendous pain and anguish that u are dealing with. Derek was a loving and caring young man. He was a son, a brother, a grandson, and a true friend he will be dearly missed by all. Always remember he is watching over his loved ones. Let Gods love and peace surround u and the family. Derek is safe in gods loving arms.
