Tommy G. Gale Jr., 54, died Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Bright Kavanagh House.
Tommy was born August 24, 1957, to Thomas, Sr., and Doris Gale in Des Moines. He attended Lincoln High School and worked at R.G. Sodding for 26 years. Tommy was an avid drawer and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Tommy is survived by his daughter, Amanda Gale; grandchildren, Connor and James; mother, Doris Gale; brothers, Ron Gale and Pat McCormick; sisters, Windy and Amy Gale; good friends, Donny and Karla Shiffer; and many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Gale Sr.; son, Jason Gale; and sister, Marti Gale.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Family will greet friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions will be received by the family.

Dodie and family...I remember babysitting a few times for Tommy, my second cousin. My mom and sisters didn't know he had been sick. Read obit in Sunday's DM Register. I'm so sorry for your loss. I pray that good memories of Tommy will always remain in your hearts. Love, Anita

Ron, Rhonda and family:
So sorry for your loss. I am sad Tommy's life was cut short. Praying that you will find some comfort, knowing others share in your loss. It has been many years since I have seen Tommy, he still looks the same in the photo from the newspaper. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
