Rebecca "Becky" Miller
February 06, 2012
Rebecca “Becky” Miller, 63, died Monday, February 6, 2012, at her home after a long battle with leukemia. She was born October 8, 1948, to Robert and Colleen Wilbert in Mason City.
Becky was a joyful soul who will be painfully missed by many. She had a generous smile, a spontaneous laugh, and an appetite for hilarity. She was a merry-maker with a remarkable gift for gathering unlikely groups of people to generate a good time! She was the epicenter of fun with family members, old friends, new friends, and whacky golfing companions (divas).
Gramma Bec never lost her humor. She was faithful to everyone she loved and was never afraid to voice her opinion in a loving way. Becky spent many years in the insurance business and her last years working for C. Miller Investigation.
Becky will be missed by her loving husband, Chuck Miller; son, Chris (April) Johnson; step-children, Danice Keller, Darla Truman, Dena (Matt) Bernett, and Lonnie (Kim) Robinson; grandchildren, Brennan and Drew Johnson; step-grandchildren, Ben, Bailey, Riley, and Shelby; two great-grandchildren; sister, Marsha (Ed) Welborn, brother, Bob (Kathy) Wilbert; and many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Robert and Colleen Wilbert.
Family will greet friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2012, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, with burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Dear Chuck & Family
I was so sorry to hear of Becky's passing - Karen just sent the on-line obituary to me. She was an absolute gem and I thoroughly enjoyed caring for her. For her leukemia to dodge all that we threw at it including the GVHD, it had to be a real stinker! She certainly enjoyed life and clearly brought joy to those around her. Please accept my sincere sympathy and best wishes.

Dear Chuck, I was so sorry to hear about the loss your lovely wife. Becky must have been a truly special person. She fought such a long and courageous battle. I am sure she is now in a much better place.
I also know that you too are a truly special person. You are one of the most kind and gentle people I know. My heart goes out to you in this very tragic loss.
I really want you to consider going on the golf trip. I think it would be wonderful for you to be with friends who love and care for you. I know it would be much better than your sitting home alone. I think Becky would want you to be there as well.
Irrespective of whether you go on the golf trip, know that my thoughts and prayers will be with you. May God Bless and care for you and your family.

I was so sorry to hear about Becky. I have not seen her for decades, but I have fond memories of childhood days spent with her and all the Wilberts at our house in Ivy (which her Dad helped build) and at their Grandma Anna's. I extend my deepest sympathy to her family and sister and brother.

To Chuck and Becky's Family,
Becky was a very special lady. She went through life with an attitude to live life to its fullest, with a smile on her face. She brought many a smile to those who knew her. Even as she fought the disease that would take her, she did so with dignity and a spirit to be admired. I am thankful to have known Becky and to see the joy she brought to Chuck, in their time together. God bless Becky and be with family and friends during this time of remembrance.

My sincere condolences to Becky's family and dear friends. I worked at National Travelers Life as Becky did at one time.. She was a joy to be around. As I read her obituary, I could feel her smiling and hear her laughter. The obituary was written beautifully. A friend of Becky's from National Travelers Life, e-mailed me today, that Becky was a joyful spirit and that she was.
When a beauiful red cardinal lands on a tree or bush nearby, that is your angel Becky, just stopping by to say "love you".
With sympathy,
Esther
