Donald Hill

Donald G. Hill, 86, died Friday, May 11, 2007 at Iowa Methodist Hospital from a short illness after a fall. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial at Sandyville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Donald was born October 26, 1920 to Gerald and Sadie Hill in Ackworth, Iowa. Donald served in the Navy aboard the USS Minneapolis during WWII. Donald was a member of West Des Moines Christian Church, DAV and VFW.
Donald is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Susan Smith and Donna (Tim) Monson; son, Martin (Chelsea) Hill; stepdaughters, Karen (Jack) Sehrt and Pat (Perry) Bradshaw; grandchildren, Jennifer, A.J., Greg, Maren, Wrex, Tyler, Sadie Rose, Kim(Greg), Emily (Scott), Sarah (Casey), Hannah, and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bette; five brothers; two sisters; and son Wrex.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the West Des Moines Christian Church.
