James Landers

James “Jim” L. Landers, 79, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2007. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with family and Masonic Services at 7:30. Private burial will be at a later date.
Jim was a member of the Za Ga Zig Shrine and the Pioneer Masonic Lodge. He retired as an engineer with the Des Moines Union Railway after 41 years. His proudest moments were sharing his wild adventures with his family. His interests included boating, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Violet Landers; children, Sally Cone of Des Moines, James (Mary Ann) Landers of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; Delores (Kevin) Dowd of Bondurant; grandsons, Brian Landers, Mark Landers, Kyle Landers, Paul Landers, John Dowd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
