Larry passed away January 4 after a lengthy illness, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
Larry worked for Parker Bros for 15 years and retired from Tones. He enjoyed being a corn vendor for Grimes sweet corn. He was very much a people person and loved interacting with the patrons. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gambling and spending time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Dean Ashley and Ted (Jackie) Ashley; his sisters, Charlotte (Mick) Iaria, Charlene Grim, and Babe (Jerry) Brown; with several nieces and nephews; and a host of great friends.
Visitation is planned for 6 to 9 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice Johnston in loving memory of Larry.

Sorry to hear that Larry passed away, was such a surprise to me. Last time we talked was a couple years ago. He will be missed. I can remember times when he help my family greatly. He was a great friend

Larry and his family was one of my childhood memories. That is
when neighbors were neighbors. His parents, Ted & Lorraine were
wonderful people and raised a wonderful family. Larry will be
missed by his remaining family. God Bless the family.
