Evelyn F. Jorgenson

Evelyn Jorgenson lived a long, happy life of 99 years, and ascended into heaven on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at Millpond Nursing Home in Ankeny. She was born September 27, 1912, in Polk City, to Edna and James Weaver Davidson.

Evelyn married Milo J. Jorgenson June 2, 1940, and they were married until his passing in 1993. She was a woman of faith and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

She was a seamstress, antique collector, homemaker, gardener and teacher. Evelyn will be remembered as a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Evelyn is survived by her son, James (Kathy) Jorgenson; two grandchildren, Heather and Jenny; one great-grandchild, Joanna; and her sister from Texas, Margaret “Peach” Land; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milo.

Funeral services will be 12 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
