Sherrey M. Green, 64, passed away at her home Thursday, December 22, 2011. She was born September 5, 1947, in Des Moines, to Don and Hazel Green. She graduated from East High School in 1965. Sherrey retired from Employers Mutual Insurance Co.
Sherrey is survived by her son, Richard Green; sisters, Hazel Smith and Barb Ballas; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Memorial services will be held 2:30 p.m., Saturday, December 31, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Sherrey.

Missing someone isn't about how long it has been since you've seen them or the amount of time since you've talked. It's about that very moment when you find yourself doing something and wishing they were right there by your side. A strong friendship doesn't need daily conversation; doesn't always need togetherness. As long as the relationship lives in the heart, true friends will never part. Miss you Sherrey

I worked with Sherrey in the accounting department at EMC years ago. I am very sorry to hear that she has passed away. I will be praying for her son and family during this difficult time.

Sherrey was always a special friend to me. She was very smart and fun to work with. I remember the first time she flew on a plane. I took Richard and her to the airport and she was very nervous about the flying business. She had so much fun in California with her relatives. I believe she went back the next year. She was very caring and always asked about my family when we talked. Her family always came first in her life. She did what she could to help them. I will miss her a lot.
P.S. She won't have to worry about politics anymore.

I have good memories of playing together as kids. She was my closest cousin in age on dad's side of the family. It was good to see her on the trips mom and I took to Des Moines. I will miss her. I didn't know Richard very well, but I send him and Sug and Barb and the family my deepest sympathy.
