Service Details
Ted Robison, 51, passed away on December 18, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by his loving family and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. The funeral service will be Thursday, December 22 at 1:00 p.m. at Valley Evangelical Free Church, 4343 Fuller Rd in West Des Moines.
Ted was born on December 8, 1960 in Chicago, IL to Eddie Mae Robison and Edward Hughes. Ted graduated from Hirsch High School in Chicago and then moved to Wisconsin in his early 20’s where he lived for 13 years. He met Sherry Davis in Minnesota in 1994. He moved to Iowa in 1997 and they were married on September 11, 1999. Ted was a man of God and not ashamed to share with others his love of Jesus Christ. He loved to sing praise and worship to the Lord. He and his contagious smile will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Ted also enjoyed the Iowa State Cyclones, the Packers, fishing, biking, movies and campfires. He loved spending time with his family and friends and his 4 lb yorkie, Louie.
Left to cherish Ted’s memory are his wife, Sherry; his children, Alicia, Ted, and Ciera “Toot” Jerry; 4 grandchildren; his sister, Gail (John Burrows); brothers, Edward (Gloria), Eddie and Cheerun; parents-in-law, Shirley and Don Davis; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Aaron; and sisters, Carol and Ernestine.

We want you to know the Blue's will be praying for you, and love you and Ted very much.
I wish we would of gotten together more often as we had talked, but time got away. I will never forget the first ride you and Ted and Mark took Bill and I on. It was our first time out and Ted must of taken us over 20 miles, and the head wind was awful. I will never forget how he laughed at me with my wobbly legs when I got off my bike. I will also never forget his advance to take Advil immediately and to this day I still do that when I take long rides.
I want to thank you for sharing with me about Teds brother from Chicago moving here and wanting to be around Ted. This testimony continues to show me how God had his hand on Ted, and he could of taken him several times before with his health, but choose now verses then.
Not only did Ted impact those living around him for Christ, he continues to this day. As Bill and I tagged teamed at the funeral home taking care of our girls so they weren't exposed to a funeral as they are only 5 and 6 God is using both of you. As I tried my best to explain to them why they couldn't come into see Ted, Andrea said Sherry has a broken heart. As me and my girls weep on the way to church for our lost of Ted, it opened the door to salvation and how we know for sure Ted is in heaven. We are still working through salvation with our girls and wanting to make sure they fully understand. Isn't it just like our God to use someone like Ted to get these little girls minds thinking about heaven and asking questions. Praise God Ted is still being used!!

Sherry,
I only had the pleasure of knowing you and Ted shortly, but I remember very clearly how he set the standard by which I judge all other catfish. The guy could cook it like nobody's business! Since then, when I have it at restaurants (it's never quite as good as his), I find myself thinking of you guys from time to time. You have my deepest sympathies, and I hope memories of Ted bring you great comfort.

Dear Sherry
I only had the pleasure to know Ted a few short years. But I will cherish them for the rest of my life. We were in a faith based small group together. His faith was undeniable. I always looked forward to listening to what Ted had to say during group. He spoke so highly of you and was so grateful for you sticking by him. Behind every good man is a great woman. I'm certain that it was your devotion to the Lord and to Ted that caused our Ted's and my paths to cross. I am eternally grateful for that.

Sherry-
I wish I had words to comfort you and sustain you in your grief, but I know there are none that will take away any pain you are feeling now. My heart aches for you, Sherry, and my arms long to embrace you. Even my knees know your grief, as I have been on them in prayer for you. Although words seem insignificant now in the midst of your sorrow, they are all I have to give you.
