Arlene Howell

Arlene Howell, 91, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2011, at Wesley Acres in Des Moines.

Arlene was born in Des Moines to Claude and Rachael Davis on March 3, 1920.

She loved to crochet making quilts. She also did needlepoint work that she gave to her many friends and relatives.

Arlene and her husband Harold were ardent football fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes, attending most every game both home and away for many years.

She was employed by Meadow Gold Company for many years before retiring.

Arlene is survived by nephews; Steve (Janet) Davis, Dan (Deb) Davis, Bob Davis; and niece, Tonya Cox.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her parents, Claude and Rachael Davis; three brothers, Bob, Ed and Claude (Buss) Davis.

A funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, with a visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
