Donald Foster

Donald Farrell Foster, Sr., 68, died after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. He was born November 14, 1943, in Des Moines, to Farrell and Sara (Elston) Foster.
Don is survived by his wife, Marsha; children, Sandra Gilliam and Don Foster, Jr.; son-in-law, Clint Parrish; grandchildren, Dustin Gilliam, Josh Gilliam, Dekoda Parrish, Chelsey Bothwell, Alexandria Parrish, Tristan Parrish, Skyler Foster, and Chase Parrish; nieces, Christy, Tracey, Trisha, Lori, and Deanna; nephews, Brent, Brian, Jamin, and Eran; mother, Sara Foster; sisters, Karen (Dave) Golay, Sharen (Larry) Surber; and Linda (Jim) Zircher; as well as his brother-in-law, Jim (Karen) Beardsley. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie Parrish; son-in-law, TommieDean Gilliam; father, Farrell Foster; and nephews, Noah Swenson and Mike Zircher.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, December 10, 2011, at Grimes Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness, 2380 S.E. 37th Street in Grimes.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Don.
“And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. And the One seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new.”
