Larry K. Lewis

Larry K. Lewis, 66, was born July 13, 1945, and passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center.

Larry graduated from Des Moines Tech High School and attended both Drake University and Grandview College. He worked as a computer analyst in the banking industry throughout his life. Larry attended St. Peters Catholic Church, where he sang in the choir. He had a love for the outdoors, going to the Iowa State Fair, and animals.

Larry is survived by his wife of 30 years, Joyce; step-daughter, Cassandra (Charles) Leach; children, Keith Lewis and Amanda Lewis-Belmares; grandchildren, Dustin McDonald, John House, Erica Lewis, and Milo Belmares; brother, Greg (Julie) Lewis; aunt, Geraldine Blunk; nephew, Vaughn (Christy) Lewis; his cats and dogs; and many other loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Thelma Lewis.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
