Beverly Detlefsen

Jean Detlefsen, 75, died Sunday, December 4, 2011 at her home. A memorial visitation celebrating Jean’s life will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Bethany Baptist Church, 3516 SE 14th Street, Des Moines.

Jean was born March 7, 1936 in Clinton, IA to Helen and Moritz Detlefsen. She worked as a housekeeper on the newborn intensive care floor at Methodist Medical Center for 21 years. Jean was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Des Moines for over 40 years. She loved animals, especially cats and dogs and enjoyed crocheting and visiting with her neighbors.

Jean is survived by her brother, Richard Detlefsen; sisters, Deloris Detlefsen, Shirley Norris and numerous nieces and nephews.
