Tammy Sue Balaski

Tammy Sue Balaski, 53, died at her home December 1, 2011, after a long battle with various health issues.

Tammy was born July 8, 1958, in International Falls, Minnesota, and moved to Des Moines at age 9. She worked for Hiland Potato Chip Company for many years, and took nursing classes at DMACC. Tammy loved to bake cookies and watch the birds.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Joveney; nephew, Ryan Malone; and brother, Joseph Paul Balaski. Tammy is survived by her father, Hubert Balaski, Sr.; brothers, Hubert Balaski Jr., and Steve Balaski; aunt, Pat (Vinsell) Johnson; nephews, Chris and Mike Balaski; niece, Kaylee Balaski; and a host of other family members and friends, including Jennifer and Irving Hahn and Morris and Ingar Woods.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels in loving memory of Tammy.
