Larry A. Meyer

Larry A. “Fritz” Meyer, 53, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2011, at Iowa Health Hospice, Taylor House in Des Moines. He was born April 12, 1958, in Denison, Iowa, to Donald and Amy Meyer.

Larry married Gloria Steenhoek in 1991. He enjoyed gardening, reading, wood-working, and spending time with his family, especially Gloria and his son, Gerrit.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Gloria; son, Gerrit; stepmother, Joleen Meyer; brother, James Donald (Faye) Meyer; sister, Suzanne (Michael) Bunting; his parents-in-law, Gerrit (Chris) Steenhoek; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2011, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 517 SW Des Moines Street in Ankeny. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2011, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to establish an education fund for Larry’s son, Gerrit.
