Bruce Dale Clewell, 48, passed away peacefully November 25, 2011, after a long battle with cancer. A memorial visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011, at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 1199 Main Street in Dubuque, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.
He was born on February 27, 1963, in Dubuque, IA, to Robert and Lois Clewell. Bruce was a graduate of the University of Iowa. He worked at Menard’s and loved woodworking and cooking.
Bruce is survived by his mother, Lois Clewell; brothers, Bill Clewell and Bob (RheaAnn) Clewell; niece, Samantha; nephew, Nicholas; and aunt, Jerrie Clewell. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Clewell.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa, Immanuel United Methodist Church of Des Moines, or St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Dubuque.

I went to Byrant School with Bruce and always remember him as a kind and quiet boy.

Lois I am so sorry for the loss of your son Bruce. I know just how you are feeling because I lost my son Mark in Feburary 2010 to cancer. It is the hardest loss to ever have, not suppose to happen that way. I will keep you and Bill and Bob in my thoughts and prayers. My love and sympathy to you. Shirley
