Darlene Hammond

Darlene Violett Hammond, 64, passed away May 2, 2007 at Fleur Heights Care Center. A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 6pm Saturday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home.
Darlene was born October 8, 1942 in Johnston to Dorothy and Asa Clover. She was employed by CDS as a clerical worker for more then 10 years. She had lived in Des Moines for the past 34 years. Darlene enjoyed movies of all types and had a love for books. She loved spending time with her family.
Darlene is survived by her children, Bruce (Laura) Hammond of Des Moines, Brenda (Larry) Christianson of Altoona, Brent (Michelle), Bonnie, and Brad (Trudy) Hammond all of Des Moines; her siblings, Dixie Parkhurst of St. Peter, MN, Dan (Sue) Clover of Spokane, WA, Dawn Perdew of Fort Worth, TX; her sister-in-law, Jolene Clover and brother-in-law, Jim Hall; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hammond, her mother Dorothy and step-father Robert Black, her father, Asa Clover, her brothers, Donald, David, Dennis and Dale Clover, her sister, Dorothy Hall and her companion, Dean Benson
