Michael Angelo Knox Jr., (Mike) 49, of Des Moines, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. He was born April 12, 1962, in Denver, Colorado the son of Michael and Mary (Garrett) Knox, Sr.
Michael is survived by his wife, Patricia Anne Knox; son, Michael Angelo Knox, IV, daughter, Shontionna Ja’Naye; mother, Mary K. Rife; sisters, Michelle A Carson (Joseph), Marlene M. Knox; brother, Michael A. Knox, III; grandmother, Esther Clark; grandfather, Marshall Knox, Sr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2011, followed by funeral services at 1 p.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

I miss you Mike, but the remembrance of your smile and the every time you saw me come running to me and hugging me helps the pain. Man Mike I always believe every time I would come back to DM you, your hugging and smile would always welcome me back...forever in my soul.??

See ya Cousin./Brother/Good friend Michael worked with my brother at latin king and cooked all of us a dinner that night that I think every table wanted to see this awsom cook. I grew up in the same neighbourhoods as Michael did and I'll miss him and god bless the family.

To the family of Michael Knox, I know what your going through and hope that God keeps your family in his hand. I remember so many things playing at Uncle Butches and Aunt Mary's with Michelle; and Michael bugging us so much that we hide from him. What I can tell you is that after the tears and the emptiness have gone try and remember all the things that made Michael so special and carry that with you. Whenever you get sad and want to cry think of what he would want and put a smile on your face because you remember his great smile and his love for his family.

Hello Mary and Michelle,
I wanted to give my condolences of the loss of Michael your son and brother. My heart goes out to you and the families. I know I haven't been around in such a long time, you have always treated me with respect and dignity. I just got word of his funeral today.
