Wilma Person

Wilma J. Person, 82, passed away Monday, November 21, 2011 at Taylor House Hospice. She was born November 25, 1928 in Des Moines to Joe and Alta Caldwell. She lived most of her life in Pleasant Hill and graduated from East High. She was presently residing at Sunny View Care Center, 410 NW Ash Dr in Ankeny with her husband, Gene. Wilma was a skilled seamstress, enjoyed crocheting, and loved cats. She was a member and very involved at Rising Sun Church of Christ.

Wilma is survived by her husband, Gene; daughter and son-in-law, Toni and Nate Hanson; daughter-in-law Brenda Person; grandchildren, Joe Thomas, Brandi (Aaron) Jackson, Brooke (Brad) Van Wyk, Jamie Thomas (Dustin Young), Angie (Brett) Darnall; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard; and son, Steve.

A visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Rising Sun Church of Christ, 6390 NE Rising Sun Drive in Pleasant Hill followed by burial at Rising Sun Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kitchen Fund at Rising Sun or the Animal Rescue League.
