Charles Valentine

Charles David Valentine, 66, died Sunday, November 20, 2011 at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Des Moines. Charles was born November, 15, 1945 in Charles City, Iowa the son of Hilder and Lois (Bennett) Valentine. In 1953 he moved to Des Moines with his family. He graduated from North High School in 1963. After high school, Charles served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1969 to 1972 in Germany.

Charles is survived by his mother, Lois Olson of Grimes, IA; sisters, Linda Olson of Urbandale, Carol Olson of Grimes and Lisa (Olson) Neas of Conway, Arkansas; brother, Donald Olson of Corpus Christi, Texas; five children, Lorinda Hanson; David Routh, Kimberly Van Stone, Jeremy Valentine and Chad Valentine; and six grandchildren.

Charles was preceded in death by his father and wife Linda.

Per Charles wishes, he has been cremated and burial will be held at a later date at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, IA
