Mary Fresco

Mary Fresco, 83, died Friday, November 18, 2011 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. A funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2011 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with burial following at Glendale Cemetery. A visitation will be Sunday, November 20, 2011 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a rosary service at 7 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.

Mary was born August 9, 1928 to John and Angeline Russo. She was a homemaker and in recent years became involved in thoroughbred horse racing and owned horses that ran at Prairie Meadows. She loved to travel and wintered the past 30+ years in Florida. Mary was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and the Build Lincoln Higher Club.


Mary is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dante; daughters, Debora (Kerry) Leech, Susan Paterson; grandsons, Brian (fiancé Melissa) Paterson and Dante Paterson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Russo.
