Mary Ellen Highberger-Foley

Mary died Sunday, November 13, 2011at her home. She was born on May 1, 1948 in Des Moines, the daughter or Floyd and Freda (Barton) Highberger.

Mary was a 1966 graduate of East High. She worked for ten years as a supervisor for Northwestern Bell. She later was the owner and operator of Professional Answering Service, where she managed a staff of eight. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and shopping.

Mary is survived by her son, Steven Foley; three grandchildren, Jesse, Elizabeth and Jonah Foley; her former spouse, Walter Foley; sister, Ruthie (Bob) Sams; brother, Kieth (Delores) Highberger; sister, Joan (Gene) Hatfield and brother, Jim (Carolyn) Stoll. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Urn burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2011 at McDivitt Grove Cemetery in Urbandale followed by brunch at Jim and Carolyn’s house at 7108 Winston Avenue.

A memorial has been established in loving memory of Mary. Contributions may be made to the funeral home.
