Lela Mae Corrine Tam

Lela Mae Corrine Tam, 101, was born February 6, 1910, in Des Moines, the daughter of Thomas and Ella Evans. She passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at The Village at Legacy Pointe in Waukee.

Those left to honor Lela’s life are her daughters, Jackie (Howard) Wickett and Nancy Kissel; her grandchildren, Amy Wickett, Mike (Eileen) Wickett, Laurie (Larry) Krause, Jennifer (Jim) Duggan and B.J. (Megan) Kissel; her great-grandchildren, Jack, Emily and Lucy Krause and Becca Wickett.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Jack Tam; her son in-law, Bill Kissel; two brothers; one sister and her parents.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street with inurnment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family will greet friends at the funeral home an hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lieracy Program at Park Avenue Christian Church, Lincoln High School or The Village at Legacy Pointe in loving memory of Lela.
