Maryanna Ruth Young Deaton, 72, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011. She was born May 20, 1939 to Robert and Eva Scott.
Maryanna was a life long musician, performing with many country artists. She performed many years with her former husband, Rex Young. Maryanna also was privileged to play on the Grand Ole Opry.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond L. Deaton; daughters, Kathleen Miller and Melodee (Joe) Tufts; grandchildren, Patrek and Miranda Tufts and Coltan Talbert; five step-children, Terry, Sandy, Connie, Debbie and Brian; and many additional grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Mashell Young; brother, Robert L. Scott, Jr., George C. Scott; and sister, Alice Gillespie.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2011 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League.

Kathy,Ray, Melodee and family,
It breaks my heart that I can't be there with you. You have made me feel like a part of the family and Maryann was my second mother. I'm so glad we spent those few months together earlier this year. I love you all, and please know I am there in spirit. God's band now has another beautiful voice and a kick-ass bass player!

To Ray and all of the family: Our sincere sympathies for your great loss. We knew Maryann for a long time and had a lot of good times over the years. Once she was your friend, she was a friend for life. We will always smile when we think of her.

Again Kathy, we extend our most sincere synpathy to you and your family. I'm sorry but we will not be able to come out as Sammy is having surgery Thurs. to have his stimulator replaced. Our thoughts and prayers will sure be with all of you.
