Patricia C. Evans, 70, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Bright Kavanagh Hospice House surrounded by her loving family.
Patricia was born January 4, 1941 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Helen and Jacob Berneking.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 47 years, Donald; sons, David (Jody) Evans of Altoona, Michael (Tammy) Evans of Bayard and Robert Evans of Altoona; daughter, Catherine (David) Gatton of Altoona; four grandchildren, Ryan Evans, Jacob Evans, Jessica Evans and Shelby Gatton; brothers, Phil Berneking and Fred Berneking; sister, Barbara Miller; numerous nieces and nephews; other loving relatives and many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th St. SW with prayer services beginning at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Ss. John and Paul Catholic Church, 1401 1st Ave. S in Altoona, with inurnment to follow at the Altoona Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.

Mike, I'm sorry to hear about your mother's passing. My memories of her from childhood are that she was always friendly and treated us kids with kindness. See seemed like a genuinely nice person.

We were sorry to hear of Pat's passing, but I know that Kavanaugh Hospice House is very careing to both the patient and the family.
I am sure she will be missed by the large family that is left behind, but you should just remember the good times.

I never knew Pat very well, but she always said hello to me in the halls of EHS and was never without a smile. I know she is smilling still.
