Shirley,
I am Nancy and Richards eldest daughter. I realize just how difficult a time this is for you. There are no words that can express the pain I feel for you, although I do know exactly how you feel. Having been there myself, it is a comradery that we now share. If ever you need to "vent" or just talk or reminice about how or what you are feeling, I would love it if you could or would with me. I want to do all I can to help you through this time. I may not be of much help other than an ear to listen, or eyes to read... but always know that you can say anything and I will understand. Ron was a true champion of men, a devoted family man, true friend to all he knew, especially to my grandmother Aliene. He was so special to Katie and Tanner Fisher, my niece and nephew in law... and a grandfather figure to their children. He was ever so loving, kind, generous and adventuresome. My husband also enjoyed hunting and fishing, all kinds of outdoor life as long as he was able, so I can feel for Ron's love of it. My personal email is pattysmith7794@gmail.com, if you should ever need or want to corrospond. I would consider it an honor!
On my husbands memorial slip given to the public at his service he wanted a saying he had heard on it... hopefully it will feel appropriate to in this case as well... it meant the world to him, I hope it canhelp you and your children as well... it is as follows;
Remember me with smiles and laughter
For that is how I will remember you all
If you can only remember me with tears
Then do not remember me at all
Roger, loved this , and I made his wish come true by having it printed on his memorial slip... I hope it can help you as well.
With Love and Prayer, Patty Jewett Smith
