Service Details
Kathryn M. Kellar, 74, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2011, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 19, 1936, in Neola, Iowa to Verle and Katie (Crane) Dunlap.
Kathryn is survived by her husband, Dick Kellar; daughter, Cindy (Jack) McChurch; sons, Rick (Arvalla) Kellar and Randy (Peggy) Kellar; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, October 28, 2011, at First Church of Christ, 310 NW Ash Drive in Ankeny, with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 27 at the church.

Dear Kellar Family,
With you all, we too celebrate a life well lived by your Kathryn. Wife, Mother, Grand Mother, friend, teacher, counselor, and so much more than titles that we put upon ourselves. May all of us who had the good fortune to know her be content that it was our brief privilege to have lived beside her and felt her spirit. Scripture records: "And it shall come to pass that those who die in me shall not taste of death, for it shall be sweet unto them." Be of good cheer for she is in His care, even now. May it be our lot as well to have lived as well in mortality as Kathryn did and even as well in immortality through our ressurection. May our Heavenly Father grant you all His peace through the Holy Ghost as you gather to take comfort from one another and celebrate Kathryn's life and influence upon you all. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
