Marlin Long

Marlin D. Long, 76, passed away Friday, April 27, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue with burial following at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
Marlin was a devoted husband, dad and granddad who enjoyed attending the many different sport activities that his son, grandsons and granddaughter coached in Perry, IA. He retired from John Deere after more than 30 years, a proud member of the UAW, and served as Local 450 Health and Safety Director.
He is survived by his wife Beverly of Des Moines, his children, Patti Allen of Ankeny, Mike (Nini) Long of Perry, his step-children, Deborah Barker of Ankeny, Keven (Dicki) Priske of Bentonville, Arkansas, Valerie(Ron) Montgomery of West Des Moines, his beloved mother, Freda Long of Des Moines, his sister, Carolyn (Max) Liggett of Yukon, Oklahoma, his brothers, Ron (Linda) Long of Aiken, South Carolina, Daniel (Mary Ann) Long of Schaumburg, Illinois, his 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Marlin was preceded in death by his father George (Shorty) Long.
