Marilyn Cappello, 68, died Thursday, October 13, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born April 29, 1943, in Marion County, Iowa to Oda and Hallie Woolsey.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Paul (Deb) Cappello; granddaughter, Emily Cappello; grandson, Nate Cappello; granddaughter, Abby Lomax; three sisters; two brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines.

Marilyn, I love you and will always hold you dear. I will remember you with gratitude and reverence for all you taught us and all you gave us. You helped raise us and the invaluable impressions you left on us will always be cherished, like the memories we shared and the love you gave. I only regret I couldn't thank you more. You are painfully missed.

To the family of Marilyn Capello my deeppest sorrow for your lost. I knew marilyn when we worked together at the Hoover bldg 1st floor she will be missed by alot of people that knew her. Again my condolence Linda

Marylin was a very dearly loved woman in my family. She was like my second grandmother and she was one of my mothers best friends up to her untimely departure. I owe many of the values I hold today, to her and am so grateful to have known her. She will be so dearly missed by us all.

I am very sorry to learn of Mairlyn's passing. We were friends from grade school all the way through High School. I spent alot of time at her family home on Jefferson.
My deepest sympathy for the family at this diffucult time.

my heart is broken. her door was never locked, and her door was always open. the first was physical, the second, her philosophy. she left us in a blink of an eye, without warning.
