Peter Frederick Conwell, 47, was born December 18, 1963 in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Deane and Anita (Schjei) Conwell. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Friday, October 14, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center.
Pete is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Deb Conwell; sons, Pete and Jordan Conwell; mother, Anita Kohl; sister, DeeAnn Bruff; brothers, Randy Conwell, Mike Conwell and Scott Conwell; numerous nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Sandy Simmons; father-in-law, Lou Simmons; sisters-in-law, Sherry Marean and Bobbie Short; brother-in-law, Lou Simmons; other loving relatives and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Deane Conwell; brother, Bobby Conwell and his nephew, Shawn Conwell.
The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Easton Baptist Church, 5075 NE 23rd Ave. in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2011 at the church with burial to follow at the Altoona Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Pete. Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

I was very sorry to hear of Pete's passing. He was a classmate of mine and one of the kindest people in our class. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to each and every one of his family members, and I am glad his life was blessed with a great marriage and children.

Deb, Pete, and Jordan,
We are extremely sad to know you have to go through this hard time right now. Pete will be greatly missed. We will miss his smile and the little talks we've had over the fence and him waving or saying hi. I remember how proud both you were when you brought the boys home from the hospital, Pete had that proud smile, and when he gave me potty training advice for my boys. It has always be nice having great neighbors like you. If you ever need a helping hand we are here for you. You, Pete, and Jordan and your entire family are in our thoughts and prayers. May God watch over your family and help you get through this tough time.

I was very sorry to hear of Peter's passing. Although it has been many years since we last saw each other, when I think of Peter it's with fondness in remembering a kind, quiet individual with a great sense of humor and a real knowledge of what a true friend should be. Prayers and sympathies for your family.
