Mary Rose Galloway passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011, at Prime Care in Des Moines at the age of 48. Mary, daughter of Irwin and Irene Galloway was born October 11, 1962 in Sac City, Iowa. She graduated from Sac City Community High School and attended Sauk Valley College in Illinois, DMACC in Ankeny, and Mercy College in Des Moines. Over the years she had been employed by EDS, HyVee and Target.
She is survived by her mother, Irene; brothers: Robert (Kathi) and Paul; a sister Clara (Rolen) Hill; 7 nieces, 2 nephews, 5 great nieces, and 8 great nephews, several uncles and aunts, many cousins and friends. Mary is preceded in death by her father, grandparents, a nephew and great niece.
A heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Prime Care for their compassionate care; and to Iowa Health Home Care Hospice for their care and support.
Family will greet friends 5 to 7 pm Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with a memorial service at 6:30 pm. A funeral mass will be held at 11 am Thursday, October 13, in Sac City, Iowa, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Family will greet friends and relatives following the service. Memorial contributions may be given to Camp Sunnyside in Des Moines or On with Life in Ankeny.

Big hugs and Condolences to Aunt Irene, Robert, Clara, Paul and the rest of the family and Mary's friends. Glad she no longer has to have the pain and infections but know you will miss Mary very much.
I will really miss Mary and her big personality. She was always someone I looked up to and admired. Her love of the family, especially her immediate family. Her dreams for the future and looking forward and having the strength and courage to live as independently as possible which couldn't happen without the incredible support of her family. I know she is flying around without any restrictions, hanging out with her dad and other family members that have gone ahead. It will always make me smile when I think of those rides in her van on the country gravel road (as I held on tightly to my arm rest) Her time with us in CA and going to Disneyland. Mary driving cousin Kim and I around Des Moines to see the Christmas lights and going out for her favorite Red Lobster. and never ever forget dancing with you at the family weddings. See you on the other side Mary, until then you will always be in our hearts.
