Genevieve B. Casper

Genevieve B. Casper, 98, passed away October 2, 2011, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.

Genevieve was born November 7, 1912, in Ramsey, Illinois, to John and Julia Hall. She moved to Des Moines in 1964, and retired from the United States Postal Service in 1969 after many years of faithful service. Genevieve was very family oriented and loved spending time with her large, extended family.

Genevieve is survived by her granddaughter, Jill Ann (Casper) Anderson and husband, Michael; grandson, George Alan Casper, Jr.; great-grandson, Austin M. Casper; sister, Julia M. Collins; many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives; and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Casper; son, George Alan Casper, Sr.; sisters, Octavia Moore and Mildred M. Benefiel; and her brother, John Hall.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Valley View Village in loving memory of Genevieve.
