Fred Schoondyke

Freddie Schoondyke, 71, of Des Moines died on Monday, November 6, 2006 at his home under hospice care. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Freddie was born to Blanche and Bill Gelson on March 22, 1935. He served in the Unites State Navy during the Korean War, had worked at McDonald-Douglas for 32 years and enjoyed John Deere collectables. He is survived by his wife Donna, his children Sheri Marshe of Jacksonville, Florida, Fred (Angie) Schoondyke Jr. of Roothouse, Illinois, Peggy (Don) Frazier of Alton, Illinois, Brenda (Gary) Grover of Hartford, Illinois, Bonnie Anderson of Hazelwood, Missouri, Martin (Peggy) Schoondyke of Jacksonville, Illinois, Brett Schoondyke of St. Charles, Missouri, his step children Glen Mouser and James Mouser both of Bunker Hill, Illinois as well as 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 6-8 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions can be made to Iowa Hospice.
