Lawrence Moody, 67, passed away September 25, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center.

Lawrence was born March 1, 1944, to Jack and Lillian Moody. He worked in maintenance for KCCI Channel 8. Lawrence enjoyed football, fishing, boxing and good Southern cooking. He loved Las Vegas, and the great “people-watching” there. Lawrence had a passion for the Blues, and in his younger years he played the saxophone in a band. He was a sharp dresser and when attending various Blues Festivals he was often mistaken for one of the performers.

Lawrence is survived by wife, Carolyn; children, David, Joshua, Jeffrey, Eva and Debbie; several grandchildren; sisters, Sandra Jones and Jacqueline Perkins; and a host of other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Maurice; sister, Beverly and his son, Daryl.

Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
