Charles Herman Randles, 77, died September 17, 2011 at the Altoona Nursing and Rehab Center.
Charles was born August 14, 1934 in Walnut Ridge Arkansas. He worked as a Maintenance Supervisor at Firestone Tire and Rubber for 43 years and was a member of Norwoodville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; children, Doris, Dan and Doug Randles; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, David.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will occur Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

my wonderful big brother,how I always loved you.You always saw the good in me when noone else could,you never judged me or anyone for that matter,you were a true christain and gave much. Of course I do not understand why God allowed you to suffer for so long but only God knows why.I feel at peace knowing you are with mom and dad and little David and many loved ones passed.Charles you will always be in my heart and soul,we all take away much from having known and loved you.My memories of the fun I had at your house will remain with me forever.You were always so wonderful to our parents and they loved you so very much.You are the first one of us nine children to make the journey and if there is a heaven you are there with your crown of jewels.Well brother i hope to see you again one day and i send my love. You were such a amazing man and he lead a life a man should be proud of.Kiss mom and dad for me.

Dan and Family,
Over the years I have grown to love your dad as though he was mine. I will always cherish his memory and the times we spent in his house reading the Bible and praying together. Many time I would share at his encouragement my own troubles and trials. He faithfully prayed for and with me. Once in a while he would drive to Ankeny or give me a phone call because he said he missed our time together and my children. As you have know his love for each of you and your children, he gave mine a portion of his love and show of concern for them. I thanked him for that over and over.
I praise God that he is now out of this world and not being hampered by the pain and frustration that his illness brought to him!!!! Yes, we will all miss him but it is only for a short time. Jesus will be returning and will call us all home to be with Charlie and every one else who calls upon Jesus as their Savior.
Thank you all for allowing me to share your Dad and Father for a while here on earth.

I can remember as a kid- getting to stop by the Randles house after a Calvary Baptist field trip and their graciousness of welcoming a van load of kids/teenagers into their home and bathroom!
