September 16, 2011
Tim Perdue, 37, died Friday, September 16, 2011 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. He was born May 28, 1974 in Fairmont, MN the son of Larry and Ramona (Mino) Perdue and grew up in Swea City, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa; children Anna and Alex; mother, Ramona; sister, Shannon Perdue; grandparents Duard and Sylvia Perdue; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his father, Larry and grandparents, Harold and Virna Mino.
Tim was a loving father and dedicated husband. He owned G Forge as a self employed computer programmer until shortly before his death. He was brilliant with technology. His hobbies included photography, flying, especially following the purchase of his own airplane, and astronomy, where he custom built his own observatory. If Tim had an interest he delved into it full force. Tim handled his cancer diagnosis in the same manner, educating himself and others about the disease. He was a great uncle. I did not see him much though. My heart stopped when my mom told me he passed away.

I am very saddened to have heard about the death of Tim. When we owned a grocery store in Swea City, Tim was one of our employees. I found Tim with a great sense of humor, very very smart with things, and always willing to help. Our condolences go out to his wife, and children and to Moni and Shannon and the grandparents and all of those that loved him. RIP Mr Tim! God Bless!

I was blessed to have graduated with Tim. We worked on the video annual together and had a blast. He will be greatly missed. He always wore a smile that people would have to wonder "what is he thinking". My thoughts and prayers go our to Lisa and the kids. I hope they remember what a terrific man he was.

I'm very sad to hear that news of Tim passing away.
I never met him, nor exchanged with him on the Net, but I've been a contributor to the FusionForge project, which continues the efforts he initiated under the name GForge years before.
GForge has been very helpful to lots of organizations in order to facilitate collaboration for software development and more.
Even if the roads of Tim and some of his community have diverged later (project forks, etc.), his contribution, as Free Software, will remain for years to come.
We owed him a lot, and I hope that his legacy will be remembered by generations of hackers.
My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
