Mildred States

Mildred Florine States was born on May 8, 1918, to Guy and Grace States in Altoona, Iowa. She departed to be with her Lord and Saviour on September 13, 2011, at the age of 93.

At a very early age Mildred received Christ as her Saviour and Lord and rested her salvation on the finished work of Christ. “Whosoever therefore shall confess Me before men, him will I confess also before My Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 10:32. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9.

She was in fellowship with those gathered to the name of the Lord Jesus Christ at 4450 East Oakwood in Pleasant Hill, Iowa.

Those left to cherish her memory are a niece, Marlene Johnson of Hugo, Minnesota and several great-nieces and nephews and their children; and many friends.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Grace States; her brother, Guy States, Jr.; her sisters, Grace Marie and a baby sister when only four days old; and a nephew, Richard States.

Mildred was “departed to be with Christ which is far better: and is now “absent from the body and present with the Lord”. (Philippians 1:23 and 2nd Corinthians 5:8)

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2011 followed by burial at Mitchellville Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
