Barbara Hunter, 75, passed away September 13, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center. She was born October 12, 1935 in Des Moines.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Carla Grimm; granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Grimm; her loving cousins; niece; and entire Hunter family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hunter.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

My sincere sympathy on the loss of your mother. I only knew your mother slightly having met at family gatherings but she was always gracious and kind. She was easy to talk to and seemed to have a great sense of humor. It was always a pleasure to see her.

Dearest Carla and Elizabeth,
My family sends our deepest condolences for the loss of your mother and grandmother, Barbie, as we called her.
Our family has been so blessed in knowing Barb. Her friendship with my mom Betty, and my sister Teri has meant the world to our family.
Barbs positive attitude, smile, and onery laugh made everyone happy to be around her, and her homemade bread pudding did not hurt either.
I will always remember Barb for her excellent cooking (even with the cat hair), her love of life, and her friendship.
Carla, we both were so lucky to have the WONDERFUL mothers that we did, and I am so blessed that our mothers friendship also made us friends.
Keep your head up, remember the very best of Barb; we love you very much.
