Richard Elvin Omlie, 67, passed away on September 10, 2011. The family will hold a private celebration at a later date. Mr. Omlie was cremated.
Richard was born on August 20, 1944, in Los Angeles, CA, to Frances (Strom) and Knute Omlie. He relocated to Des Moines in 1983 and retired from Ingram Entertainment.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Edith Omlie; sons, Eirik (Nina), and Aaron Omlie all of New York City.

I worked with Richard for several years at Ingram Entertainment. I sure enjoyed his quiet sense of humor. He was such a kind man. Please know several of us at Ingram sure thought well of him and missed him here.

First of all my condolences to Edie, a friend I have known for years and her family. I will miss Rich, his smile and his kind words everytime he seen me. He was truly a blessed man who loved his family as well as friends. There are not enough words to express my sympathy to his wife and sons. I pray that God will keep you and your family in every way and let His love fill your hearts greatly so that you may overcome the pain and your joy will overflow with sweet precious memories that have been left for you to hold dearly.
