Bud John Sebek

Bud John Sebek, 68, died Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Kavanagh House on 56th. He was born August 6, 1943 to John and Olga Sebek in Brigham City, Utah.
Bud worked for 13 years as a salesman for AAA of Iowa and retired from transporting RV’s after eight years. He and Jean loved traveling and R.V. camping and he especially loved to drive his truck.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 30 years, Eleanor Jean Sebek of West Des Moines; children, Rick (Dawn) Sebek and Tammy Leif, both of Lincoln, NE, and Justin Sebek of Sacramento, CA; stepchildren, Douglas (Julie) DenHerder of Ft. Collins, CO, Sandra (Randall) Heiden of Clive, Audrey (Brett) Richert and Amy (Dan) Allen, both of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Morgan, Noah, Abigail, Jarred, Jordan, Samantha, Allyson, Jacob, Erinn, Seth, Mallory, Rachel, Savannah, Caroline, Isaac, Sarah, Spencer, and Tanner; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Isabella and Wyatt. Bud was preceded in death by his parents and sister.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 650 NE 52nd Avenue, Des Moines. Family will greet friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Kavanagh House on 56th Street in Des Moines. Online condolences may be expressed at

Jean, Myrna and I want to express our deepest sympathy in the loss of your husband. Myrna has been ill this past week, and I just learned of it today.
We are sorry that we were not able to attend visitation or the services for him. Our best to you and your family.

Bud was one of the old-timers when I started at AAA. I always enjoyed talking to him in the break room. My sympathy to his family.

We want to offer our condolences to all of Bud's family. We only knew him a little while. But the wonderful impression, impact, and memories he made on his family and friends is obvious and tremendous. We will miss him.
