Dennis H Crawford, 70, passed away Friday, September 9, 2011, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
Born March 11, 1941, in Rockwell, Iowa, Dennis Harry Crawford was the twin son of Harry and Helen (Bootger) Crawford. He grew up and graduated from Hampton High School in 1959. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force serving for four years. On September 15, 1975, he was united in marriage to Connie Rogers, to this union two daughters were born, Melissa and Jennifer. Dennis enjoyed golfing, fishing, and supervising home renovation projects. Most of all he loved spending time with Connie and his family.
Survivors include his wife, Connie; daughters, Melissa (Mike) Thomas, and Jennifer Crawford and fiancé Dan Lankford; grandchildren, Isabella, Gabriella, Madaline, and Matthew. Dennis is also survived by his brothers, Richard (Jean) Crawford of Hampton, IA, Dale (Sandy) Crawford of West Des Moines, and Roger (Sheryl) Crawford of Chandler, AZ; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents.

connie - sorry to here about dennis passing. enjoyed working with him before his retirement. also enjoyed seeing him after retirement on several dinner occasions.

I worked with Dennis for several years at Norhtland Insurance. Dennis and shared a great deal of time together at work and had many lunches together and spoke about family hobbies and many other subjects during that time. I had occasion to see Dennis at some company functions after his retirement and I will miss him and our conversations. My heart felt condolences go to the Crawford family.

Dear Connie and children,
I am so sad to learn of Dennis's death. Please know that you and your family will be in my thoughts these coming weeks. I don't know if you remember me...I am a grand-daughter of Edna and Andy, and you and I played together as children when we would come to Melcher or you would come to the Quad Cities and later we would see each other at reunions. (I remember you as the prettiest little girl with beautiful curly hair and I have the fondest memories of your dear mother.) Our daughter Megan Tooker and her husband Jim Laursen live near you in Des Moines. My husband joins me in sending you all our deepest sympathy.
