Jeanne Wilson, 86, passed away Tuesday September 6, 2011 at Polk City Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Central Bible Church 2430 Guthrie Ave. with burial to follow in Sunset Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. on Friday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home 605 Lyon Street.
Born May 20, 1925, Jeanne Jeannette Wilson was the daughter of Frank and Myrtha (Copenhaver) Wilson. She grew up in rural Independence, Iowa in a family of six children. In 1946, she attended Northwestern Bible School in Minneapolis, MN, graduating in 1950. After graduation Jeanne left for Africa to serve as a missionary to teach the people about Jesus Christ. When returning four years later, she returned to complete more bible study at Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada before once again returning to Africa. In 1962 Jeanne graduated from Broadlawns School of Nursing, and continued to teach future students for one year. Later she earned her Bachelors in Nursing from Marycrest College in Davenport, Iowa, and Master’s Degree in guidance and counseling from Drake University. In 1971 Jeanne and Elsie Hosier served as co-pastors at Central Bible Church, and also working for the Iowa Board of Nursing until her retirement in 1987. Jeanne continued to pastor at the church until 1997
Survivors include her sister, Virginia Ann Kuper; long time friend, Rev. Elsie Hosier; and many nieces, nephews, and family at Central Bible Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Laura Kalbfliesch; and brothers, James, Lyle, and Richard.

I miss and love you, Aunt Jeanne. I've always been proud to be your namesake. Dave and I are comforted knowing you are sitting at Our Heavenly Father's feet. We celebrate your eternal resting place.
Elsie, thank you for being such an important part of Aunt Jeanne's life and a part of our family. I hope you know how loved you are!

Dear Elsie, Words cannot express how very sorry I am to hear that your Amigo, Your constant companion, Your Friend and confidont. Went to see Jesus so soon before your work here is done. I,m so very sorry for your loss. But so very excited and happy for Jeane. I can see her in my minds eye as she dances all the way to His throne. Full of energy and questions that she had waited for, for so long. Only to get before Him. And be unable to speak. Sitting at His feet and Worshipping Him in person. Just like she has in Spirit all of these years on earth. You both were and are very dear to me. Your sometimes stern exterior never for a second fooled me. I am so grateful that God saw fit to give us to each other for a time. I love you in the Lord. And in Life. Please remember, Your time to see Jesus yourself will come in its appointed time. Elsie, you know me as Jessica Clarke, Mary and DeWayne's daughter. I am so sorry to hear about Jeanne. I can't imagine how you must feel. I feel so sad losing a woman I've known my whole life. I wish I could say that I had kept in touch better. I should have found a way. I'm glad that we all know she is with Jesus now. At least there is comfort in that assurance.

I smile when I think of the "homecoming" Jeanne is enjoying right now. Our earthly loss is Heaven's gain. She was such a remarkable woman. Hugs to Elsie and Jeanne's family. DeAnna

We extend our sympathy to Central Bible, Elsie, family and friends.
Jean was a friend of our family. She gave of herself and touched our lives in many ways. Our parents initially knew Jean from NE Iowa as well as Des Moines. Marlys had the pleasure of working with Jean periodically for several years when Jean was a nurse. Jean assisted at the wedding of Vernon and Marlys. Also, Jean and Elsie were a great source of strength, comfort, healing and prayer when Goldie, our mother, was ill and dying and generously performed the funeral service. We enjoyed learning about Jeans many experiences in ministry, especially her dedication in Africa and to Central Bible. We enjoyed sharing interests about our little dogs, hymns and movies like Anne of Green Gables.
Jean will be missed. We are better people as a result of knowing her. Her spirit will remain with us. She is at peace and home at last.

Jeanne, Elsie and Central Bible have always had a very special place in my heart. We lost a diamond on earth when Jeanne passed away and heaven earned an extra star.
My deepest condolences to everyone grieving for her death.

I was very sorry to hear of Jeannes's passing. But I know that she is with
the Lord.
Jeanne was an important part of my walk with the Lord and I will always
remember her fondly.
May God give you His peace as you mourn her passing.
I went to Central Bible with Jeanne and Elsie as pastors for about 18 years
and have many wonderful memories of her that make me smile.
